Avira AntiVir Personal from Avira GmbH protects you computer against viruses, malware, adware and spyware, unwanted programs and other dangers. There is also a paying version, Avira AntiVir Premium, which is available for purchase from Avira’s website.
Avira AntiVir Personal has a Control center for monitoring, administering and controlling the software; central configuration with a very user friendly and standard options and context sensitive help. Furthermore, it has a scanner (on demmand) which can be used according profiles and has configurable search methods for all known types of virus and malware.
It is fully integrated to the Windows Vista User Acount Control and lets user take actions that need administrative rights.
Simple and fast updates of the software, virus definitions, and search engine through Single File Update and incremental VDF updates via a webserver on the Internet.
The program includes a quarantine feature, so tha when the user comes across something he or she is not sure about, it can be set apart as prevention.. When the software detects something, it alerts the user and provides differente choices to take into account to deal with the problem. |
